What type of pet care do you specialize in?I specialize in private, in-home pet sitting, allowing your pets to stay where they’re most comfortable: their own home. I maintain their familiar routines while providing personalized care, companionship, and thoughtful attention to your home while you’re away.
Will you actually stay in my home overnight?Yes. During an overnight booking, your home becomes my home base for the duration of the stay, and I’m dedicated to caring for your pets throughout your entire trip.
I may occasionally wander out for a trip to the farmers market, grocery store, coffee shop, or another short outing, but I plan my days around your pets and their individual routines. I don’t leave for another job or split my overnight care between multiple households.
My goal is to give your pets plenty of companionship and consistency so their days feel as normal, comfortable, and loved as possible while you’re away.
Do you care for multiple households at the same time?I only book one household for overnight care at a time. Sit and Wander Co. is owner-operated, so there are no rotating sitters or unfamiliar team members coming into your home. When you book with me, you know exactly who will be caring for your pets.

What is included with overnight pet sitting?Every stay is personalized, but care may include feeding and fresh water, walks and potty breaks, playtime and enrichment, medication, pet waste cleanup, companionship, and daily photo and video updates.
I can also help with everyday home needs such as bringing in mail and packages, watering plants, managing trash and recycling, and keeping things tidy while you’re away.
Do you provide senior pet care?Yes. Senior pets often benefit from staying in their familiar home and maintaining their normal routine. I provide calm, attentive care tailored to their mobility, energy level, medications, feeding schedule, and individual needs.
Care may include slower or shorter walks, frequent potty breaks, medication, mobility assistance, modified feeding routines, extra rest and companionship, and close attention to any changes in behavior or wellbeing.
Additional charges may apply when a senior pet requires more frequent, specialized, or hands-on care.
Do you provide puppy care?Yes. Puppies often require more frequent and hands-on care, so puppy stays are customized around their age and current routine. Care may include frequent potty breaks, scheduled meals, play and enrichment, walks when appropriate, crate or pen routines, and reinforcement of the training and house rules you already have in place.
Additional puppy care rates may apply depending on age and level of supervision required.

Do you care for cats, too?Absolutely. Cat care is tailored to each cat’s personality and routine, whether that means lots of play and companionship or simply giving them the space they prefer.
Care may include meals, fresh water, litter box maintenance, playtime, medication when needed, and daily updates.
I have a special place in my heart for cats as I have had them my whole life :) and have always helped rescue cats.
Do you care for exotic or unusual pets?Yes! I have experience caring for chickens, pigs, goats, bunnies, birds, koi and common aquarium fish, axolotls**, giant Amazon frogs**, tarantulas**, venomous Amazonian centipedes**, and scorpions**.
I’m comfortable following established feeding routines involving live insects such as crickets and worms**. Exotic and specialty pets can be added to qualifying pet-sitting stays for an additional fee.
I do not provide care for very large snakes or perform live rodent feedings. All exotic pet requests are considered individually based on the species, enclosure, feeding requirements, and level of care involved.
**This is not my area of expertise and I don’t LOVE it, but I can do it!
I do not offer horse or cattle care but if you have them on your property I’m happy to give them treats and check on them!
Do you offer walks, hikes, swimming, or other adventures?Yes. For pets who enjoy getting out and exploring, select stays can include customized adventures such as hikes, nature walks, beach outings, swimming, or longer walks.
Activities are always discussed with you beforehand and based on your pet’s age, health, temperament, activity level, and existing experience. Adventure outings may carry an additional fee and are subject to location, weather, and availability.

Do you offer drop-in visits?My primary specialty is in-home overnight pet sitting, so drop-in care is offered on a limited basis depending on my schedule and location.
When available, visits can be customized around your pet’s needs and may include feeding, walks or potty breaks, medication, playtime, litter or waste cleanup, and companionship.
Will I receive updates while I’m away?Of course. I provide regular photo and video updates so you can see how your pets are doing and enjoy your trip knowing they’re comfortable and cared for. We can also discuss your preferred update frequency before your stay. I have What’s App in case you are traveling internationally. There is never a limit on the amount of updates or check ins!
Can you administer medication?I’m comfortable administering many routine pet medications when clear instructions are provided. Please let me know about medications, medical needs, or special care requirements during your initial inquiry so we can make sure I’m the right fit for your pet.

What happens if my pet has an emergency?
Before your stay, I’ll collect your veterinarian information, emergency contacts, and instructions for how you’d like unexpected situations handled. If something concerning occurs, I’ll contact you as quickly as possible and follow the emergency plan we’ve established.
If necessary, I can assist with transportation to your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary facility.
Do we meet before I book?Yes. I prefer to start with an introductory conversation followed by a meet & greet before your first stay. This gives us a chance to discuss routines, expectations, home details, and any special needs while making sure everyone feels comfortable with the arrangement.
How do I reserve my dates?Once we’ve discussed your pets, dates, and care requirements and confirmed that we’re a good fit, a deposit is required to officially reserve your dates.
Because I accept only one overnight household at a time, availability is limited and dates are not considered reserved until the required deposit has been received.

How far in advance should I book?As early as possible is always best, particularly for holidays, summer travel, and longer stays. Since I accept only one overnight household at a time, popular travel dates can fill quickly.
Last-minute requests are always welcome when my schedule allows.
What areas do you serve?Sit and Wander Co. is based in Southern California, in West Hills, but my care isn’t limited to one area. I’ve traveled throughout Southern California, Northern and Central California, as well as across the East Coast, including Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., to provide in-home pet and house sitting.
I’m happy to travel for the right sit and regularly consider destination bookings outside my usual service area. If you’re planning a trip and wondering whether I can come to you, just reach out with your location, dates, and a little about your pets.
What do you need from me before an overnight stay?Before your stay, we’ll go over your pets’ feeding schedules, walks and potty routines, medications, behaviors, sleeping arrangements, emergency contacts, veterinarian information, home access, and any household instructions.
For overnight bookings, I also ask that a clean, comfortable space be available for sleeping, bathing, and preparing meals during my stay.

Can you follow my pet’s specific routine?Yes, and that’s one of the biggest benefits of in-home care. I want your pets’ days to feel as normal as possible while you’re away.
During our consultation, we’ll go through their usual meals, walks, sleeping arrangements, medications, favorite activities, quirks, and house rules so I can maintain the routine they already know.
Can you create a custom care plan?
Absolutely. No two pets or households are exactly alike. If your pets have a unique routine, multiple animals, special care requirements, or something that doesn’t fit neatly into one of my standard services, reach out and we can discuss a personalized care plan and quote.
